We're about a week into our latest NexGym Challenge, and if you're anything like me, the excitement of day one has started to wear off. It's getting a little easier to forget to squeeze in those daily workouts.
Here are the five tips to help turn this workout challenge into fitness habits that last long after you've earned your NexGym badge!
It’s very easy to be caught up in working hard to beat yesterday, but some days you simply need to show up for yourself. Commit to the first 5 to 10 minutes of today’s workout. Take it slow and remember that you are building habits for a healthy life.
This one is critical in my house. If it isn’t scheduled, it won’t likely happen. I work a day at a time, scheduling the next workout after finishing today’s workout.
Bonus: Put it on your family calendar to hold you accountable and for everyone to be part of your success.
The NexGym Challenge is designed for solo workouts, but your family should absolutely be part of your success! Invite others to do the Challenge with you as accountability buddies and have daily check-ins.
This is one of the most important tips because life happens! If you miss today’s workout, take a moment to reset and schedule your session for tomorrow. The key to success is to never miss 2 days in a row, but allow yourself to rest when needed or not get upset when your day goes sideways.
You may feel like you haven’t made much progress in 1-2 weeks, but I can guarantee that you have! It may be physical, mental, or even emotional! I walk away from these Challenges with a renewed feeling of being an athlete and showing up for myself.
Sharing your progress and celebrating those wins also aren’t only for yourself! There are many people in our Nex community who may be inspired by your unique story of showing up. Feeling like you are part of something bigger than a daily challenge is one of my favorite parts of the NexGym Challenges!
Whether you started on Day 1 or Day 8, join in and get moving! This is about creating new habits and choosing to make time for yourself.
Join us in the Nex Playground community to share your story and cheer on other families!
