We're a team of parents, engineers, and second-time entrepreneurs who've helped build products at Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Meta. Backed by world-class partners across sports, entertainment, and gaming, we're building joyful active play experiences that get families moving, laughing, and making memories every day.

OUR JOURNEY

We started a movement, all about movement.

Since 2017, we've been chasing a big idea: what if technology could get us off the couch instead of keeping us there? From sports training to active gaming, our journey has been one of dreaming, experimenting, and learning. Every step reinforced what we believed from the beginning: movement is better together. Nex Playground is the fullest expression of that vision yet.

    2017

    The seed for Nex is planted by connecting technology to our passion for being active together (pickup basketball!).

    We make sports training more joyful and interactive with HomeCourt, an AI basketball-training app using motion tracking on iPhone — and demo it on the Apple keynote stage with investor and two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash.

    2019

    We partner with the NBA to bring more accessible tools, training, and confidence to aspiring athletes. HomeCourt is named Time Magazine Invention of the Year and wins an Apple Design Award.

    2020

    When the pandemic shuts down basketball — and everything else — we help people stay active at home. Fast Company names us a Most Innovative Company in Sports.

    We apply our motion-tracking technology to fitness, and Active Arcade is born — interactive physical games that started as sports-training ideas in HomeCourt.

    We discover active games are even better when they bring families together around the TV. Active Arcade is named an Apple Design Awards finalist for Innovation.

    Our vision is fully realized in Nex Playground, a new kind of platform built for joyful, movement-based play. Playground is named Time Magazine Invention of the Year (again) and Parents magazine Toy of the Year.

    We launch Playground at Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and Sam’s Club — and sell out for the holidays.
