A Microphone Built into Your Nex Remote

Did you know there is a built-in microphone on your Nex Playground remote? We haven’t used it previously, but you’ll have the opportunity to give it a try in a new upcoming game.

The microphone is only enabled while an on-screen prompt is visible and switches off automatically once the prompt is gone. If you'd rather not use it at all, you can turn it off easily within the game.

We designed Playground from scratch to ensure that safety, privacy, and security were always built in. No video or audio is saved or stored. If you don’t want the microphone to be used at all, you can turn it off easily within the game.

Does this work with both versions of the Nex remote?

Yes, both the original and updated remote designs have a built-in microphone.

Does the Nex Playground remote app use the microphone?

Not at this time.

Can I play this game with a 3rd-party remote?

Yes, you can still play the game, but you will need to use the remote buttons for directions since there is no audio option.
