Nex Playground + Play Pass.

What is Nex Playground?

Nex Playground is the active play system for families. Using an ultra-wide camera, Playground tracks your body’s movements—no controllers or wearables needed.

Playground comes with 5 starter games, but to play Bluey: Bust-a-Move, you need Play Pass.

With Play Pass, you can experience the entire Playground catalog. Enjoy 50+ Play Pass-exclusive games, featuring characters from Gabby’s Dollhouse, TMNT, Barbie, Sesame Street, and more. There are even sports games for your older kiddos, plus dance and fitness titles (like Zumba!) the whole family can enjoy together.

Play Pass gives you access to every new game, update, and special event on Playground. And Playground + Play Pass is the only way to experience the active, family fun found in Bluey: Bust-a-Move.

Which Bluey Episodes Inspired Bluey: Bust-a-Move?

As of this update, Bluey: Bust-a-Move includes 6 mini-games: “Keepy Uppy,” “Fancy Restaurant,” “Musical Statues,” “Magic Asparagus,” “Squash,” and “Cricket.”

Each mini-game is directly inspired by its namesake episode, but many also pull from other fan favorites. Here’s what you can expect to see in the game today (we’ll always add to this list as new mini-games launch).

1. Keepy Uppy

1 or 2 players + remote control option

You can hardly create a Bluey game without including “Keepy Uppy”. Now you and the kids can jump and play, keeping an ever-increasing number of balloons from hitting the ground.

Not in the mood to bounce around? Use the special remote feature to control Chattermax for a little extra help in keeping everything up in the air. And watch out for a special appearance from Greeny, everyone’s favorite floating “child” from “Mum School”.

Bonus fun: a hidden long dog is featured in each “Keepy Uppy” background scene. How many can you find?

2. Musical Statues

1, 2, or 3 players + remote control option

When it comes to music, Bluey pulls no punches. “Rain”, “The Creek”, “Flatpack”—this music was made to move you. And we don't know about you, but just hearing a few seconds from “Sleepytime” is enough to have us sobbing from two rooms over.

But don't worry… you won't need a tissue box for “Musical Statues”. This mini-game features some of the best Bluey dance tracks to get you and your family up and groovin’ (not boohooin’). Turn on “Dance Mode”, Bluey’s iconic theme song, or a featured track from the following episodes:

  • “Grannies”
  • “Escape”
  • “Facey Talk”
  • “Bad Mood”

… and of course, “Musical Statues”. Choose your jam, then bust a move with your fam.

3. Fancy Restaurant

Now your kiddo can recreate some of their favorite Bluey recipes (without creating a big ol’ mess).

In “Fancy Restaurant”, you can help Bingo make an “Omelette”, bake a “Pavlova” (complete with fruit and sprinkles), or tackle the challenging “Duck Cake”—the hardest of all cakes.

Crack, pour, mix, sprinkle, and more as you and your family play through these iconic Bluey moments right in your own living room.‍

4. Magic Asparagus

1 or 2 players

Match each pose in Magic Asparagus

Experience the magic of this laugh-out-loud episode as you strike ridiculous animal poses inspired by the show. Pretend play can be found throughout Bluey, and this mini-game embraces it, giving you and your kiddos a chance to get silly.

Take a run through the animal kingdom while crouching, roaring, and, best of all, giggling. Can you match each pose to the episode it comes from? Here’s a list to help you out:

  • “Asparagus”
  • “Flatpack”
  • “Zoo”
  • “Octopus”
  • “Sheepdog”
  • “Ticklecrabs”
  • “Housework”

This mini-game provides the perfect brain break when you need to step away from your everyday work—BeeeeeOOP!

5. Squash

1 or 2 players

Big siblings don’t always beat little siblings. Enjoy a little all-ages, friendly competition in “Squash”. For this mini-game, you can choose to play as Bandit or Uncle Stripe, just like in the original episode.

While this mini-game is pretty straightforward, it’s always fun to see your favorite side characters in action. Who else would you like to see added to this Bluey game?

6. Cricket

1 or 2 players

The fan-favorite season 3 episode "Cricket" is the most recent addition to Bluey: Bust-a-Move. Just like the episode, this mini-game focuses on Rusty, the kind-hearted, cricket-loving Red Kelpie.

In single-player mode, you step up to bat, aiming and striking to score points. Just choose your difficulty level (the never-ending practice mode is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers), and get swinging. Two-player is similar, except you take turns playing as Rusty at bat or Bandit as bowler.

The best part: if you score 50 points at bat, you get a chance to see a special cut-scene pulled directly from the episode. It's a heart-warming moment, and a great reminder of what play and sport is all about.

Bluey + Nex Playground Brings Active Play Home

Bluey brings kids and parents together in a way that is truly special. The show is entertaining, silly, and heartfelt—often all in one 7-minute-long episode. And best of all, it reminds everyone, young and old, about the power of play.

Bluey was a natural partner for Nex. Bringing families together through active experiences is why Playground exists. And we’re thrilled to have Bluey join Play Pass as we continue to pursue that mission.
